Topic: Learning how to learn
Many children struggle with finding the right study skills that fits them. This goes for both younger and older children. It has been clear for a while that not all children learn the same way and that there is not one-size-fits-all method. So what methods are there, how can you find out what fits your child and how can you support your child the best to make sure they can perform to their best abilities? In this presentation you will get more information and some tips and advice on these topics. There will also be room to ask any questions you might have on this or related topics.
Elize Burgess, MSc. is a graduated ‘Orthopedagoog’ (Educational Psychopathologist) from the University of Amsterdam. At a young age, she knew her passion was to help children and adolescents. Elize managed to make her passion into her profession. After being in many schools and having talked to many parents it became clear to her that there was a need for specialized tutoring for children and young adults. Tutoring should go deeper than just the transfer of knowledge but should also address how to learn. She then decided to introduce the answer in 2011: LearningPlus.
